Post-free agency full NFL two-round mock: Redskins trade down
By Ian Cummings
Picks 45-48
45. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: TCU DL Ross Blacklock
The Buccaneers are a bit thin on the interior line, especially after losing Ndamukong Suh to free agency. With Tom Brady now in the fold, onlookers will be quick to call for the early picks to be invested into the offense, but the defense has an intriguing young core that must be maximized. Adding Ross Blacklock, a supremely athletic defensive line prospect, helps with that.
46. Denver Broncos: LSU C Lloyd Cushenberry III
The Broncos offensive line is slowly coming together. The team has Ja’Whuan James coming back from injury this year, and signed Graham Glasgow in free agency to compliment Dalton Risner at guard. All that’s left to do is clear up the left tackle situation and find stability at the center position. In the middle of the second round, the latter task can be completed by adding Lloyd Cushenberry III, an athletic lineman with a nasty streak and good upside.
47. Atlanta Falcons: Lenoir-Rhyne S/LB Kyle Dugger
The Falcons are doing what they can to return to playoff prominence in 2020. They have most of what they need on the offensive side of the ball, but on defense, there’s still work to be done. They added an athletic cornerback in the first round of this NFL Draft mock, and now, in the second round, they can supplement the second level with similarly explosive athleticism. Kyle Dugger is fairly raw, despite his age of 24 years, but he brings a searing play pace that will be valued immediately on the gridiron, and versatility that Dan Quinn can be creative with.
48. New York Jets: Auburn OT Prince Tega Wanogho
The Jets invested a great deal of resources into their offensive line in free agency, and still, it feels like they have a lot more work to do. It seems as though George Fant and Chuma Edoga will get the call as the team’s tackles, but the Jets need more long-term insurance and potential starting ability, in case the hires don’t work out. Prince Tega Wanogho serves that purpose well. He needs a lot of development, but in terms of athleticism for his size, he’s one of the most exciting tackle prospects in the class, and could be a starting left tackle down the road.
