Post-free agency full NFL two-round mock: Redskins trade down
By Ian Cummings
Kenneth Murray is one of my favorite prospects in the entire 2020 NFL Draft, and if he was in the Redskins’ range, I would advocate for them to consider him as a potential choice. But the Redskins had other needs to attend to first after heavily addressing linebacker in free agency, so Murray instead goes somewhere else.
In this mock, that somewhere else is New Orleans, where they could make good use of his proactive athleticism and high motor. The Saints lost linebacker A.J. Klein in free agency, and current middle linebacker starter Craig Robertson is 32 years old. It’s time for the Saints to invest in the future up the middle, and Murray is a great fit.
Murray has an enticing combination of size and athleticism at his disposal, standing at 6-foot-2, 241, with 4.52 speed and a 38-inch vertical. He’s an explosive player with a torrid play speed, and while his aggressiveness can get the best of him at times, he has the motor to mold. With additional patience and on-field maturation, Murray can hone his best traits, and be one of the most impactful linebackers in the NFL.
