124. . Cornerback. Kansas City Chiefs. Kendall Fuller. 4. player

Remember him? The guy that the Redskins included in a package with a third-round pick to land Alex Smith? Yeah, well Kendall Fuller‘s a free agent this offseason. And while the Chiefs may want to keep him, they have some other key free agents on their roster.

Notably, the Chiefs are going to have to do something about Chris Jones. He is set to hit the free agent market in 2020 and is set to make about $19.2 million per year, according to Spotrac.com. That would eat up most of their remaining cap space, so it could make it difficult to keep Fuller around.

Fuller was an excellent slot corner for the Redskins the year before he was traded to the Chiefs. He grabbed four interceptions and did a lot to keep their defense competitive early in the season. He was up-and-down at times, as he was during his two seasons with the Chiefs, but his ability to make plays and his relative youth (25 in February) will make him an attractive target for Washington.

Fuller would come in and take over as the No. 2 corner and would move to the slot in the nickel formation. This would afford Fabian Moreau to win the job as the second outside corner while Jimmy Moreland would compete for time in the slot as well. Fuller’s versatility will give him a chance to play any of the corner positions so that should appeal to the ‘Skins.

All told, Fuller may fly under the radar a bit because of the other corner talent on the market. That could benefit Washington, as they know a lot about him having had him on the squad for two seasons. Perhaps a reunion would be in the best interest of all parties, especially with the Chiefs being cap-strapped and the Redskins essentially under new management.

And hey, it would lessen the initial blow of losing Fuller in the trade to get Smith.
