2020 NFL Combine Risers at WR

The following players put up exceptionally impressive numbers at the 2020 NFL Combine on Thursday. Athletic upside is something I personally prioritize with receivers and prospects in general, so you can consider me a fan of all these players, in some capacity. Some are better values than others at certain spots, but all of them offer that potential that teams should be able to tap into at the next level.

Risers

  • Baylor WR Denzel Mims (6-foot-3, 207): 4.38 40-yard dash, 38.5-inch vertical, 131-inch broad jump
  • Michigan WR Donovan Peoples-Jones (6-foot-2, 212): 4.48 40-yard dash, 44.5-inch vertical, 139-inch broad jump
  • Notre Dame WR Chase Claypool (6-foot-4, 238): 4.42 40-yard dash, 40.5-inch vertical, 126-inch broad jump
  • Washington State WR Dezmon Patmon (6-foot-4, 225): 4.48 40-yard dash, 36-inch vertical, 132-inch broad jump
  • USC WR Michael Pittman (6-foot-4, 223): 4.52 40-yard dash, 36.5-inch vertical, 4.14 short shuttle
  • Memphis WR/RB Antonio Gibson (6-foot-1, 228): 4.39 40-yard dash, 35-inch vertical
  • Arizona State WR Brandon Aiyuk (6-foot-0, 205): 4.50 40-yard dash, 40-inch vertical, 128-inch broad jump
  • Boise State WR John Hightower (6-foot-2, 189): 4.43 40-yard dash, 38.5-inch vertical
  • Texas WR Devin Duvernay (5-foot-11, 200): 4.39 40-yard dash, 35.5-inch vertical
  • Florida WR Tyrie Cleveland (6-foot-3, 209): 4.46 40-yard dash, 39.5-inch vertical, 126-inch broad jump
  • Rhode Island WR Isaiah Coulter (6-foot-2, 198): 4.45 40-yard dash, 36-inch vertical
  • Virginia WR Joe Reed (6-foot-1, 224): 4.47 40-yard dash, 38-inch vertical, 123-inch broad jump

You’ll notice none of the guys expected to go early are on this list, such as Henry Ruggs, Justin Jefferson, and Jalen Reagor. Those receivers helped themselves as well, but these players previously held, at most, Day 2 distinctions heading into Thursday, and so there’s a chance they could rise up the board quite a bit. Mims and Claypool are the biggest risers, as they put up crazy numbers for their respective sizes. Peoples-Jones also almost tied the vertical jump record.
