Washington Redskins: Four possible tight end trade targets
No. 1 – Buccaneers TE O.J. Howard
Howard, who was the 19th overall pick in the 2017 draft, would be an instant upgrade at the position. O.J. Howard is a dynamic player who can be utilized as a pass catcher as well as in a pass blocking role. This would be a very beneficial addition for Dwayne Haskins if the Redskins can not figure out what they will do at left tackle.
In his three seasons in Tampa Bay, Howard has accumulated 1,456 yards with 12 touchdowns. Although these numbers may not seem that good, Howard also is being used more as a blocking tight end in Bruce Arians offensive scheme. According to ESPN, Howard posted a 98% PBWR (pass block win rate).
Teams expressed interest last offseason, but couldn’t get a deal done. Could Tampa Bay actually move on from Howard this offseason? If the Redskins are willing to give up enough to get O.J Howard from the Buccaneers, he could be an excellent piece to add to the Redskins roster.
