Eliot Wolf. 9. player. 53. . Assistant GM. Cleveland Browns

For the past few years, Eliot Wolf has been in the running for some GM jobs. The 37-year-old and son of former Packers GM Ron Wolf is regarded as an up-and-comer and should get a chance to run a team at some point in the near future.

In fact, for a time, it seemed that Wolf would get a chance to run the Packers as the successor to Ted Thompson. But instead, the team opted to go with Brian Gutekunst and as a result, Wolf moved on to join John Dorsey’s staff with the Cleveland Browns.

As a part of the Browns staff, Wolf helped to reshape the Browns roster in Dorsey’s vision. The team has done well to add quite a lot of talent to the roster and while things haven’t panned out on the field under Freddie Kitchens, Wolf still deserves credit for assisting Dorsey in pulling off big moves to get guys like Odell Beckham Jr., Olivier Vernon, and Sheldon Richardson.

In addition, the Browns have found some gems in the draft over the course of the past two seasons. Between Baker Mayfield and Denzel Ward in the first round and guys like Nick Chubb, Mack Wilson, and Greedy Wilson outside the first, the Browns have really transformed their team under Dorsey and Wolf’s watch. So, that’s a plus for him.

Wolf’s work with the Browns could appeal to the Redskins. After all, the Browns were one of the laughingstocks of the NFL before they transformed into a talent-packed team this year. They fell short of expectations, but that’s not on the front office. It falls more on first-year head coach Freddie Kitchens.

Wolf surely is an intriguing name to keep an eye on. He’s still very young yet has 15 years of NFL experience. And since 2012, he has been in a director or assistant GM. He could find success if put in charge, so the Redskins should at least consider reaching out to him if they want to add another voice to their front office.
