5. The Reality Is, neither Bill Callahan nor Pat Shurmur will be a head coach next season.

In honor of bowl season, this game should be dubbed the Lame Duck Must-Lose Bowl. Both teams are being led by coaches that absolutely have no business leading an NFL franchise, and coaches who are VERY unlikely to get head coaching opportunities ever again. While they have both managed to squeeze three wins out of their respective teams this season, neither has shown any promise that their approach will lead to future growth or sustainable success.

In addition, both teams would be much better off having lost this game so as to push their stubborn and self-important owners to move on from their head front office executives who are both unsuited for the job in today’s NFL. The very fact that both fan bases are worried about a win against a 3-11 team derailing plans for a change in front office and coaching staff tells you all you need to know about these owners.

My Prediction: This game will be marred by penalties, sacks, and turnovers, as both teams show off their general lack of quality. Both coaches will embarrassingly botch a clock management or challenge decision. Daniel Jones and Dwayne Haskins will both look relatively competent, but neither will dramatically impress. And since both teams desperately want a loss, neither will get it, as they finish in an 18-18 tie, with the Redskins converting a 2-point conversion to force overtime, and neither team scoring in the extra period.
