Redskins Week 16 Reality Checks: That sinking feeling

3. The Reality Is, 1,000 yards still means something.

Terry McLaurin and Adrian Peterson are chasing 1,000 yards, receiving and rushing respectively, and those are significant accomplishments for very different reasons. McLaurin, as a rookie, managing to crack that plateau would be a nice cherry on top of a fantastic inaugural season in the NFL. To accomplish it while playing with a quarterback carousel under the leadership of “Nebraska Bill” and his weird fascination with maximizing running attempts would be nothing short of transcendent. For AP, the reach the 1,000 yard plateau as a 34-year-old would be yet another unexpected feather in the cap of one of the greatest to ever do it.

My Prediction: Both guys are going to make it, because, deep down, Callahan knows that they both deserve it, and he’s going to force-feed them.
