Score prediction

This is a tough game to predict. I think that the Vikings ultimately will win this one, but it’s just a matter of how close the Redskins will be able to keep it. But there are a couple of questions that can be answered to help figure out just how close it might be.

Does the Case Keenum revenge game aspect play into this contest at all? While Keenum may want to get revenge on the Vikings, he simply isn’t surrounded by much supporting talent aside from Terry McLaurin. Against a solid defense, it may be hard for Washington to keep pace.

Who does the short week hurt more? Some may think it’s the Vikings because of the absence of Adam Thielen. But the fact is that the team with a better coaching staff and the better quarterback often holds an advantage. Cousins holds the advantage over Keenum in this category (though both can be up-and-down performers) and I don’t think anyone will argue that Mike Zimmer is a much, much better head coach than the Redskins’ interim, Bill Callahan.

It’s hard to see a way that the Redskins will win this game, and I don’t think it will end up being close. The Redskins may lose by a couple of touchdowns and with that, the ‘Skins will have to do some serious self-searching ahead of their mini-bye before their Week 9 meeting with the Buffalo Bills.
