Redskins: Five bold predictions for Thursday’s preseason debut
By Ian Cummings

No. 1 – Tim Settle gets three sacks
Jim Tomsula’s already coached up the starters. Now, it’s the backups’ turn. Tim Settle has reportedly been very disruptive during training camp. He’s slimmed down to just over 300 pounds, and he’s been showing off surprising quickness for his size.
Against a starter, Settle still, in all likelihood, wouldn’t produce much; he was a bit of a project coming out of Virginia Tech, and he has yet to prove himself this year. But on Thursday, he’ll be lining up against Cleveland’s second-team interior offensive line. For Tomsula, you might as well be ringing the dinner bell.
With Caleb Brantley also still dealing with a foot issue, the cards are lining up for Settle to have a big night in Ohio. The prediction for three sacks is me meeting my quota for boldness, but in all seriousness, the Redskins have a knack for getting pressure on the interior, and coaches have been alluding to a better sophomore campaign for Settle. Could we get a not-so-subtle sneak peek tonight?
