The chaos of draft season is here in full force. The Washington Redskins are being tied to multiple quarterbacks and trade up scenarios with very little clarity about what actually may happen.

Draft season has officially hit its peak. With just over 24 hours until the start of the draft, rumors are swirling around like crazy. The Washington Redskins are being tied to a number of different quarterbacks, potential trade-up scenarios, and all sorts of other things.

At this point, it’s hard to know what to believe. There are just so many options and there is so much buzz about different possibilities. Will the Redskins trade up? Is Dwayne Haskins their guy? Is Daniel Jones? Are they even in on Josh Rosen? Right now, those are the burning questions that will be answered at some point in the next few days.

Here’s a run-down of some of the prominent rumors that the Redskins have been associated with in the lead-up to the draft.

Are the Redskins trading up in the 2019 NFL Draft?

This question will be impossible to answer until it happens. But, several people have reported that the Redskins are at least exploring the possibility. One of them is NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, who said they are considering it but that nothing was imminent.

This would seemingly match up with the recent reports that the Redskins had been talking to the Jets about the No. 3 pick. While that was originally thought to be an option if the Cardinals didn’t get Kyler Murray, things are now less clear, as the team has been increasingly tied to Dwayne Haskins in the past few days.

Of course, the is also a caveat with this trade talks, as NBC Sports Washington’s JP Finlay points out.

At this time of the year, it’s hard to know what “right now” means. Things could change depending on how the draft board shakes out, or it could change if the price of quarterbacks is driven up. Either way, the ‘Skins figure to be involved in trade rumors for the better part of the next 24 hours.

Are the Redskins in on Josh Rosen?

As of right now, signs are point to “no” on a Rosen trade, as ESPN’s Dianna Russini indicated on Wednesday.

The Redskins seem to have shifted their attention to the rookie quarterbacks for the moment, but that isn’t going to entirely rule out a trade with the Cardinals.

If Rosen is moved after the draft, the Redskins could be the logical team to grab him if they don’t get one of their top options at quarterback. However, that seems unlikely at the moment, as they appear to be one of the more aggressive teams that are after a passer in the 2019 NFL Draft.

This also could be a smokescreen by the Redskins. They may not want to reveal their interest in Josh Rosen in fear of another team jumping in and driving up the price for the former UCLA quarterback. That seems less likely at the moment, but the Rosen situation should still be monitored going forward.

Which quarterbacks are the Redskins interest in?

This is the big question. Everyone assumed that the Redskins have interest in Dwayne Haskins, as Dianna Russini of ESPN reported. And sure, that makes sense.

Haskins is considered to be one of the better quarterbacks in this draft class, and he had a prolific season at Ohio State. It would make sense for many teams to target him, and the Redskins’ interest was noted, especially after the report that they might trade up.

Oh, and one more thing: Grant Paulsen of 106.7 The Fan recently offered this anecdote on Twitter.

If this is true and Snyder is in control, a trade-up for Dwayne Haskins would seem possible. Haskins actually went to high school with Snyder’s son, so there is a connection there. And if the team is dead-set on taking a franchise quarterback in the first round, Haskins could be Snyder’s guy, which may matter at this point given that the coaching staff and front office may be on the hot seat this season.

However, even if they do trade up, there seem to be multiple possibilities. And one seems unlikely to excite the Redskins fan base.

In addition to their interest in Haskins, the Redskins reportedly like Daniel Jones. Their interest in him has been known for a while, but the trade up made many think that they were going to target Haskins.

However, if the Giants at No. 6 are interested in Jones, perhaps that could motivate the Redskins to leapfrog their competition to get him. And that’s exactly what Eric Galko of Optimum Scouting said could happen on Twitter.

This move would probably upset many Redskins fans. Though I’m higher on Jones than most — I like his arm, mobility, and skills in the pro-style offense — moving into the top five and taking him wouldn’t be a move I’d recommend. It’s possible that it’s just a smokescreen, but you never know.

To end this roundup, I want to take a minute to remind everyone that it is smokescreen season. And as NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah points out, we will hear just about everything leading up to the draft.

Until we see the picks come in, this draft will continue to be unpredictable. But soon enough, we’ll know exactly who the Redskins are taking.

The draft truly can’t come soon enough.
