5. Redskins must get a good pass rush on Nick Foles

In some games this year, the Redskins’ pass rush has looked unstoppable. In others, it’s been non-existent. Even with extra time to prepare and game plan, the defensive line did not get a lot of pressure on Carson Wentz in the Monday night matchup, allowing him to go through his reads and pick his targets. Wentz had a big game as a result and Washington lost. However, he will not be playing in the game.

Instead, it will be Nick Foles. While he is a backup, Foles is good enough to start on a lot of NFL teams and is capable of leading a team to a Super Bowl victory. He played lights out in his last game as he threw for 471 yards and four touchdowns against an outstanding Texans’ defense.

The ‘Skins pass rush must get to him this game. This is not going to be easy as the Eagles offensive line is among the best in the league. Jonathan Allen, who has eight sacks on the year, and Daron Payne must win their matchups inside against Jason Kelce and the talented Eagles’ guards. If they can’t, Greg Manusky, who has taken a lot of heat this year, is going to have to blitz more to help generate some extra pressure.
