No. 3 – Redskins must get a big game out of Jordan Reed

Another Redskins player who can help out Colt McCoy this Monday is Jordan Reed.

Over the last couple of games, people have seen what Reed can offer as both a chain-mover and a playmaker when he gets the ball. He had a big game against the Texans with seven catches for 71 yards and a touchdown, to go with a six catch, 75-yard game against Dallas.

Reed is starting to get featured more and should, as he is one of Washington’s better players. He should expect to see more balls come his way as the Giants found a way to get their tight ends involved against the Eagles’ secondary last week.

Due to the injuries the Eagles’ secondary has sustained this year, defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz has been forced to change up what he wants to do on defense. They now play more zone defense to keep it simple and take away the deep stuff. That is one area this week where Jordan Reed can make a huge difference. It will be up to him to find the soft spots in their zone defense and make himself a target for McCoy underneath. If he can have another game similar to his last two, Washington will be in good shape.
