Redskins vs. Eagles: 5 keys to victory on Monday night

No. 2 – Redskins must find a way to get Trey Quinn involved
One pleasant surprise over the last couple of weeks has been the emergence of Trey Quinn. Quinn initially hurt his ankle in the first regular game and landed on injured reserve.
With Quinn out and Jamison Crowder out since the New Orleans game as well, the Redskins’ passing game has lacked a guy who could consistently move the chains on third down. This is one area they need to improve upon and Quinn can be the one to help, even when Crowder does return.
In his first action since Week 1, Quinn had four catches for 49 yards against the Houston Texans. He followed that up with another strong outing against Dallas by catching five balls and finding the end zone. He also showed what he can offer in the return game as well, taking one back 30 yards to set up a short field.
In two games back, Quinn has shown excellent hands, great route running, and the ability to create some separation. Against a banged-up Eagles’ secondary, they need to find ways to get the ball into his hands, as he has the talent to help the Redskins’ passing game exploit this matchup.
Of course, all of this is now dependent on if Quinn plays or not. It looked like he would be fine earlier this week. Coming off two games in five days, he was limited in practice early in the week. However, he was a non-participant in Saturday’s practice. While this could simply be precautionary to give him a little extra rest while he works his way back, it also could mean there was a setback and he will not suit up for this pivotal matchup. If this is the case, expect Maurice Harris or Crowder, if he does go, to fill the void.
