No. 2 – Reality Is, Giants’ players and coaches aren’t tanking.

Anyone who has watched the Redskins and Giants play each other the last five years knew this game would not be a blowout. I expected the Giants to play their best game of the season defensively. I expected them not to implode and to make the Redskins outplay them in all three phases if they wanted to get this win. I also predicted this would not be a game in which the Redskins ever have more than a 10-point lead.

Reality Check: The Giants didn’t lay down for this one, but they didn’t really scare the Redskins at any point other than possibly after Adrian Peterson‘s fumble. For most of the game, my prediction of a maximum 10-point margin was in tact, but when Peterson broke that 64-yard TD run late in the 4th quarter, the Redskins finally pulled out to a 14-point lead to essentially ice the game.
