1. EDGE Ryan Kerrigan

I think it’s fair to say that Ryan Kerrigan is “back.” Of course, I put that in quotes because he was never gone, to begin with. The reports of his demise were greatly exaggerated, and this game demonstrated that he is still an extremely effective pass rusher.

Though the Cowboys line isn’t as strong as it once was, it was clear that Kerrigan brought his A-game and was able to generate a ton of pressure on Dak Prescott. Kerrigan notched his first multi-sack game of the year, and just the second of his career in 15 games against Dallas.

Kerrigan simply still has it. He has great strength, solid moves, and deceptive speed that allows him to beat any player on the line. That was the case on Sunday, and hopefully, this sparks a mini-renaissance for him. He had just one sack in the first five games of the year, but part of that was due to bad luck. Now, he should have a good chance to get on a hot streak.

This was an encouraging performance from the Redskins defense in general. Yes, their offense wasn’t great, but their team deserves praise for being able to win, and the defense particularly deserves praise for what they accomplished. As long as the team’s defense can play on this high of a level, the Redskins will have a great chance to win every week.
