Score prediction

Part of me really wants to predict a tie, as it seems that there has been a game that has nearly tied every week this season, and this seems like one that should be very close. But I don’t want to disappoint, and for that reason, I will pick a winner for this contest.

I think that despite being the road team, the Panthers have a slight advantage. They’re just playing a bit better right now, and getting Thomas Davis back for their defense will be huge. And, oh yeah, the Redskins offense appears to be devoid of weaponry at the moment, so that helps the cause too.

It’s also worth noting that Ron Rivera is a bit more aggressive than Jay Gruden when it comes to coaching, so he may make a crazy move that helps the Panthers to secure points on a key possession. It’s certainly possible, so that’s another plus for Carolina.

Expect a close finish, but the Panthers should pull away late, and that will push the Redskins to a disappointing 2-3 record after Week 6.

Score Prediction: Panthers 20, Redskins 17
