Other Positions

There’s an assortment of other quality options that the Redskins might consider targeting. Here’s a look at the best of the bunch.

CB Tony Lippett, Dolphins: Lippett once looked like a solid No. 1 corner for the Dolphins. However, a torn Achilles before the 2017 has hurt him badly, and the Dolphins released him as a result. Lippett could be a quality, veteran backup for an inexperienced corner room, so if the team wants to add a player like that, Lippett would be the best option.

WR Corey Coleman, Bills: Coleman has great deep speed, but has had trouble with health and consistency at the NFL level. The Redskins could take a flyer on Coleman in hopes that he could develop into a nice No. 4 option and speed threat. However, carrying seven receivers seems unlikely, so Coleman might be an unlikely option.

K Dan Bailey, Cowboys: This would be the ultimate dream. Taking the Cowboys kicker and turning him back into one of the league’s best kickers. Bailey only made 75 percent of his kicks last year, but he was dealing with an injury. During his career, he has made 88.2 percent of his field goals, and he has a bigger leg than Dustin Hopkins. It may not be realistic, but adding Bailey could pay off.

There’s no knowing exactly what the Redskins will do. But, the fact is that they have options and there is some talent on the open market. The most likely scenario will see them claim an offensive lineman, but until the claims go through, we won’t now the team’s plans.
