No. 3 – WR Cam Sims

In his performance against the New York Jets, it was hard to tell which team Cam Sims was on.

Early in his time on the field, Sims let an easy pass slip through his fingertips, resulting in an interception. For the rest of the night, however, he catalyzed concerns of loyalty in a different way, flying high like the Jets themselves on multiple critical catches.

Fast-forward to today, and Sims has been labeled everything from a virtual lock to everything Josh Doctson couldn’t be. The comparisons to Josh Doctson, a former first-round talent, are easily premature, but there’s no denying Sims’ potential. With a looming 6-foot-5 frame and a penchant for propulsion, he could be a valuable weapon on offense, especially in the red zone. With a couple solid performances to rest on, there’s now just one question for Sims: What do the Redskins think of him?

In this week’s matchup against the Broncos, we may find the answer to that question. Week 3 is widely considered the regular season dress rehearsal for teams across the league. If Sims sees playing time early, and if he even sniffs the field at the same time as Alex Smith, then he can consider himself a safe bet to make the roster. I would tell you to keep an eye out for his big plays, but he’ll grab your attention whether you look for him or not.
