2016 NFL Draft
Oct 10, 2015; University Park, PA, USA; Penn State Nittany Lions defensive tackle Austin Johnson (99) during the third quarter against the Indiana Hoosiers at Beaver Stadium. Penn State defeated Indiana 29-7. Mandatory Credit: Matthew O /

24.  Austin Johnson, DT – Penn State: (6-4, 323) Projected Round2nd. The Redskins run defense is in need of an upgrade.  One of the best way to help improve against the run is to add more talent to the defensive line and Austin Johnson has the size and talent help give the Redskins another option at nose tackle and defensive end.  LW # 27

23.  Vonn Bell, SS – Ohio State: (5-11, 199) Projected Round – 2nd.  The Redskins recently released two safeties in Dashon Goldson and Jeron Johnson.  They signed free agent David Bruton but they still need to add some depth at the position.  Vonn Bell is a very versatile safety.  He could play either strong or free safety,  He also has the skills to cover the slot receiver.  Bell is also good at creating turnovers,  A trait the Redskins defense could use a lot more of.    LW #29
