Outside Linebacker. Georgia. Leonard Floyd. 28. player. 124.
There’s some potential uncertainty at outside linebacker for the Chiefs as we move into the 2016 offseason. Tamba Hali and Frank Zombo are both free agents, and Justin Houston has a history of knee issues. They already added Dee Ford a couple of years back, but you can never have too many outstanding edge rushers on an NFL roster.

Considering they have impressive depth throughout their roster, the Chiefs could consider going back to the outside linebacker well in 2016. And if they did so, landing Floyd would be an excellent move with the future in mind. Although his slender frame will cause some concern, he offers an excellent burst off the edge and does a great job of using his hands to ward off blockers.

If the Chiefs do choose to let Hali walk, replacing him on the roster with Floyd wouldn’t be any sort of downgrade. The former Bulldog was one of the SEC’s top pass rushers over the last few seasons, and certainly has a lot to offer at the next level. If he can improve on his strength, Floyd could quickly develop into an unstoppable force for Kansas City’s defense.
