Will Compton
Will Compton was signed as an UDFA in 2013 and made the Redskins practice squad. In 2014, he started 5 games in relief of Perry Riley and Keenan Robinson. He started out slowly and finished with a bang.
Compton proved to be a very good tackler and pass defender
Compton proved to be a very good tackler and pass defender. He doesn’t seem to measure up to Riley or Robinson’s abilities as a blitzer though. Compton only had 9 combined tackles when he started in place of Riley in weeks 6 and 7 but had an excellent 38 tackles when he replaced Robinson in weeks 14-16.
Compton had a 1.05 rating versus the Giants in week 15. His pass defense was stellar with a 1.03 rating. His run defense even better at 1.14.
compton needs to add a little weight and get stronger
Compton continued his success versus the Eagles in week 16 with a 1.01 rating. His pass defense had a 1.04 rating. His run defense earned a 0.88 rating.
Compton needs to add a little weight and get stronger but I wouldn’t be surprised if he beat out Riley at some point in the 2015 season.
