Name: Jameis Winston, Florida State: (6-4, 232)
Projected Round – Top 5, first round
Likelihood on the Board when Redskins Pick – Unlikely
The Washington Redskins have three decent options at quarterback in Robert Griffin III, Kirk Cousins, and Colt McCoy, but none of them is a sure bet to become the franchise quarterback for the team. RGIII was drafted to be the Redskins franchise quarterback, and while he still has a chance to be good, he has some work to do.

However, the Redskins aren’t coming into the 2015 NFL Draft in the market for quarterback with their first round pick, although they’ll more than likely draft one in the middle rounds. But if either Florida State’s Jameis Winston or Oregon’s Marcus Mariota somehow fall to them, they may have a decision to make.
Winston has prototypical size and is very strong in the pocket, so he doesn’t go down easily. At times he will shake off tacklers in and keep plays alive with his feet. He has good arm strength and can make all the throws. Winston’s a big time winner in that he hasn’t lost a start in his college career yet.
He has good mobility, and can scramble to keep the chains moving if he has to. But make no mistake about it, Jameis Winston is a pocket passer first. On the field he has a never say die attitude and has brought his team back to win games on numerous occasions.
However, Winston’s off the field issues might scare some teams away from him, and there are times when it seems Winston is very hard for his head coach Jimbo Fisher to handle. But the NFL is about winning, and all Jameis Winston has done at Florida State is win. The question is can he stay out of trouble?
