Make Quick, Decisive Decisions

Griffin is becoming infamous for hanging on to the ball in the pocket too long, which has led to more negative plays. If the Redskins have a second-and-3 for instance, Griffin can’t afford to take a sack and make it a third-and-long. Every first down is important, as is every set of four downs. .

If the first option isn’t available, and the second option isn’t open, Griffin has to get rid of the ball after going through his progressions. Whether that’s throwing it away, or finding the running back or tight end in the flats. Every play won’t be a home run hitter, which is something Griffin has yet to realize. He has to take what the defense gives him.
