5. Shanahan wanted to Quit in 2012? – In week 14 this season, a report surfaced from ESPN that Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan wanted to quit after 2012 season, and had even packed up his office.  The report stated that Shanahan was unhappy with the close relationship between owner Daniel Snyder and quarterback Robert Griffin III.  But instead of quitting, Shanahan decided to stay on as head coach because of concern of how he would be portrayed in the media after Griffin’s knee injury.
