<p>The 2011 campaign was a forgettable one for the Washington Redskins&#8217; offensive lineman. While the team did function better with Grossman behind center, they still struggled mightily with any type of increased pass rush. One &#8220;bright spot&#8221;, if you could call it that, was center Will Montgomery. Montgomery also filled in at guard during the season. His starting abilities could prove useful, but where the Redskins really win in this signing is with depth. Montgomery can play several positions on the offensive line and play them well enough to get you through a series or a quarter or even a game, in the case of injury. <a href="http://espn.go.com/blog/nfceast/post/_/id/36554/redskins-will-montgomery-agree-to-deal">ESPN.com&#8217;s NFC East blog</a> is now reporting that the Redskins have signed Montgomery to a four-year contract. He would have been a free agent in March.</p>
