You are all well aware that Robert Griffin III and your Washington Redskins will be heading up to Buffalo to take on the Bills, Thursday night. What you may not be aware of is that the game has been blacked out locally because of NBC4′s coverage of the Olympics. This leaves you with a few options that you can chose from. We want to know how you will be watching the game.

]]> The Washington Redskins now have thirteen (twelve if you count Niles Paul as a TE, although he’s still listed at WR on the active roster) receivers on their roster. Some people could be considered “camp bodies” but there are a good amount of serious contenders for the six or seven spots available. If you were a math major in college you’d know that not even half of the receivers on the roster will make the team. The Redskins carried seven receivers in 2011 so that Brandon Banks could maintain his position as a return specialist. Banks, however, did not produce as expected last season and his seven spot could possibly be filled or eliminated.

The incumbents at reciever for the 2012 campaign are as follows:

  • Santana Moss
  • Anthony Armstrong
  • Leonard Hankerson
  • Niles Paul (converting to TE)
  • Brandon Banks
  • Terrence Austin
  • Aldrick Robinson

The new acquisitions via draft, free agency, or trade are as follows:

  • Pierre Garcon (Colts)
  • Joshua Morgan (49ers)
  • Dezmond Briscoe (Bucs)
  • Darius Hanks (Rookie – Alabama)
  • Samuel Kirkland (Rookie – Kent State)
  • Lance Lewis (Rookie – ECU)

Assuming that Garcon, Moss, Morgan and even Hankerson are locks, this leaves little room for some of the more beloved Redskins over the past few seasons. That’s two or three spots to fit the speedy Anthony Armstrong and Brandon Banks. One can’t also forget that the Redskins went out and acquired Dezmond Briscoe, who scored the most touchdowns for Tampa Bay last year. Terrence Austin, Aldrick Robinson and even Niles Paul have a pretty bleak outlook at this early stage of training camp. Some of these players, much like Brandon Banks, are only a play or two away from lighting up DC and securing a roster spot. The offenses and defenses are usually pretty bland in the preseason, but special teams is always 100%. Most people like a Hanks or Kirkland will have to find their way on to the active roster, or possibly practice squad, via special teams.

New Poll: Most Evil Team Ever? - Riggo's Rag - Riggo's Rag - A Washington Redskins Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and more.

]]> Dr. EvilThere’s a new poll up.  We all have teams we hate and despise, but a select few have risen above the normal levels of dislike and have ascended into a level of pure evil. 

Help us decide which Redskins rival is the ultimate source of Evil! Vote early and often (see poll to your right). Let’s take a closer look at some of the options…

 Dallas Cowboys: Our ultimate rival…but are they Evil?  They stole our fight song and blackmailed us! They used to smuggle in and release animals in our stadium to mock us.  But the clincher? They allowed Emmitt Smith to become an announcer for ESPN.  Case closed. 

Philadelphia Eagles: The body bag game. They cheer when a player gets hurt. And of course, anyone who boos Santa has GOT to be evil. 

New York Giants: Joe’s leg still doesn’t bend the right way. Also, there’s no conceivable scenario where Eli Manning wins a superbowl that DOESN’T involve a pact with Satan. 

Oakland Raiders: Al Davis is a vampire and that’s evil, right? Also, they beat us in a superbowl so they get an honorable mention.  I never want to see another damn clip of Marcus Allen running 74 yards for a touchdown.

Miami Dolphins: They get a mention because they too beat us in a superbowl. The only downside to New England’s flaming wreck in the superbowl was that it gave Mercury Morris a chance to gloat a little longer.

 New England Patriots: 52-7.  Enough said.
