ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen have just announced via twitter the Peyton Manning will be a Denver Bronco barring any type of “snags” hit during contract talks. Many have speculated he would end up in Denver because of VP John Elway’s influence and Denver’s positioning in the AFC West. Manning was also reportedly in talks with the Tennessee Titans and San Francisco 49ers as of yesterday.

The question now is what becomes of the fan-favorite and potential stater Tim Tebow? Tebow is still under contract with the Broncos through 2012.

The Washington Redskins have gone all-in in a move that stunned even the most seasoned of analysts. The Redskins will send this years sixth overall pick and two future first round picks, along with a second round pick from this year to the St. Louis Rams for the right to draft a Heisman-winning quarterback in Robert Griffin III from Baylor. The Washington Redskins are now setting the stage for a massive movement to Washington by this year’s best free agents. There will most likely be a learning curve and a few growing pains for Griffin III (or Luck, should Indy stun the world), but this move will instantly make Washington a suitable landing spot for some of the bigger names in free agency.

The first two targets on Washington’s list you ask? Well, on the offensive side of the ball I believe they will vigorously pursue Vincent Jackson at receiver and Carl Nicks at guard. Both are young and would be solid additions to take this offense to the next level and even potentially put it on par with the defense. There is a great pool of young talent that will be available this year and the Redskins have $40 million plus in cap room. There is also another scenario that could potentially unfold that has seldom been talked about. The Redskins could indeed draft Robert Griffin III but still sign Peyton Manning. As a matter of fact, as I am typing this, Adam Schefter is reporting that the ‘Skins will try to land Manning and allow Griffin some time to grow. With the amount of money Snyder and company have under the cap and the desperation in the air, realtors in Ashburn are salivating.

After two quiet offseasons in DC, let the spending begin!

Adam Schefter has recently reported that the Washington Redskins have traded up in the 2012 NFL draft, with none other than the St. Louis Rams. This is what Schefter had to say on Twitter Friday night:

Washington Redskins traded three first-round draft picks and a second-round pick to St. Louis for second overall pick in a trade first reported by @JayGlazer

Although an agreement is in place between the two teams, the trade can not be processed until Tuesday, which is when the offcial leauge year begins . The Redskins were unsuccessful in the pursuit of free agent Peyton Manning, and immediately turned their attention to Robert Griffin III. The Baylor standout and Heisman trophy winner is expected to be chosen by the Redskins in the upcoming draft.
