Two starting lineman will be out for the Cowboys.

Two Dallas lineman out for Sunday’s showdown - Riggo's Rag - Riggo's Rag - A Washington Redskins Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and more.

If ever there was a boost the Redskins could get from the Cowboys, it would be this.

The Redskins defense is hungry to show its new aggressive, ball-hunting style. It appears the group will be drawing the Dallas Cowboys on a good week. At least a couple of starting offensive linemen are not expected to play.

Right tackle Marc Colombo will miss Sunday’s game, according to reports, which should be good news for Redskins’ linebackers rushing the edges.

The Cowboys’ line is the weak link in its offense and the Redskins will face it at a good time. Dallas will also be without starting left guard Kyle Kosier, who’s still recovering a knee sprain. Montrae Holland will get the start at left guard and Alex Barron will likely replace Colombo at right tackle.

Quarterback Tony Romo was sacked 34 times last season, an average of 2.1 per game. In five preseason games, Dallas quarterbacks were sacked 16 times, an average of 3.2 per game.

With Columbo out, no doubt Albert Haynesworth will be licking his chops. Yes he had a drama filled week. Yes, he probably hates Shanahan. Yes, he probably doesn’t care for the Redskins much. But he does want to ball. Haynesworth playing the scheme will be great. Haynesworth freelancing and doing his own thing would be great do, as he would would be disruptive no doubt. Don’t forget about Orakpo on that side too. If anything, this does not give the Redskins a advantage. I think of it as making it an even playing field.

However, should the Skins prevail, I can already head Cowboy fans saying that if both lineman were available, the result would be different.
