It was also announced that back-up linebacker Jonathan Goff  tore his ACL and is done for the season. Goff, who was signed earlier this season from the Giants, ended his season last year with a torn ACL.

While Goff’s injury isn’t as worrying as starting guard Lichtensteiger’s, it is still a huge loss as Washington wanted to add experienced depth to the linebacker core.

Shanahan said he plans to have Lichtensteiger back for the start of the season, but may have him return earlier if his knee proves to be ready.

Other notable injuries include fullback Darrel Young, strained hamstring; guard Willie Smith, twisted ankle; Jamal Brown, aggrevated hip.

On the bright side, Saftey Tanard Jackson was activated from the PUP list and may be ready to practice by Wednesday.
