Former Redskin Landry headed to Jets, Stallworth to Patriots

Per reports from Adam Schefter, former Redskins Saftey LaRon Landry has signed a one year deal with the New York Jets that will be worth around $4 million. Landry had been in disagreement with Washington ever since he decided against surgery this off-season for injuries he has suffered the last two years. The Redskins selected Landry with the 6th overall pick in the 2007 NFL draft out of LSU.

On the other side of the ball, former Redskin wide-receiver Donte Stallworth has reportedly signed a deal with the New England Patriots. Sources say it is a one-year deal. Stallworth played with New England in 2007 where he had 46 receptions for 697 yards.

On Sunday, the Washington Redskins play host to the New York Jets. While the Redskins have a terrible season, don’t count them out for this game. They may be the underdog, and have nothing to play for, but the ‘Skins will manage to pull off the upset and end the Jets season. Rex Grossman will have a mediocre game, and only throw one pick to Darrelle Revis. The Redskins recievers will have an enourmus game, as will runnig back Roy Helu. The defense will also play well, causing a few turnovers. At the end of the 4h quatar, the Washington Redskins will walk off the field victorius.

After a disappointing month and half of football, the Washington Redskins got a much needed victory against the Seahawks. Even though play-off chances are slim, the 'Skins should still try to play like they are fighting for the last spot, and hope Tony Romo takes the Cowboys on a free fall. Here are 5 keys that will help the Redskins beat the New York Jets this Sunday:

1) Keep protecting Grossman: Ever since he got the starting job back, Rex Grossman has not been hit a lot, and it has nothing to do with the 3 pounds he
lost while he was on the bench. It’s all in the once again reformed offensive line. They have been buying Rex more than enough time to find his receivers, and
make great passes. If they can hold against a terrifying Jets defense, expect a decent passing game from the home team

2) Take advantage of Sanchez: Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez has had a rocky year, much like Rex Grossman. He gets hit often, and when under pressure, Mark throws terrible passes. Last week however, Sanchez led a comeback to defeat the Bills in the final minutes. One of the biggest reasons is the Bills did not go after him in an agressive fashion. A big factor in Sunday’s game will be the Redskins taking advantage of Sanchez’s weaknesses and inconsistencies. If ‘Kerrakapo’ can get their hands on the Jets QB, expect a couple of turnovers.
