I know this doesn’t quite seem like the right words to explain the Redskins current status, however, if you listen to this week’s song by Black Boo, it will make perfect sense. In previous years, a 3-5 Redskins record meant the season was pretty much over and there was very little hope. This year’s 3-5 mark is different because we have some pieces in place that show that this year is far from over and a positive vision for years to come. Today, the Carolina Panthers come to town for what is expected to be a bounce back game for Washington before the bye week. I like the no worries approach as it will calm the players and give them the confidence to overcome injuries and bad play during the first half of the season. Visit YouTube and get on board with this week’s song sampled from Lil Wayne’s track titles No Worries.

After Robert Griffin III jumped into the Fantasy Football scene with a bang, I know everybody started him week 2 right? I know everybody ignored the experts and had faith that he would shred the St. Louis Rams, right? If you benched your starting QB in week 2 for Robert Griffin III, comment, tweet me or post who you benched. I am interested to see how confident our readers are that Griffin III would deliver. Personally, I decided at the very last second to start Cam Newton vs. the Saints instead of starting Griffin III who played St. Louis because I felt Newton would repeat Griffin’s success. Cam didn’t disappoint, but neither did Griffin III. Outside of Eli Manning throwing for more than 500 yards, Griffin III was arguably the most impressive quarterback in action for week 2. The experts didn’t believe that Griffin III would duplicate his stellar performance from the previous week. In response, he silenced the critics with his 3 td performance. Below are the top 5 Fantasy performers at quarterback for week 2 according to NFL.com, ESPN.go.com and Fleaflicker.com. How did your QB perform?

Fleaflicker.com

1. E. Manning- 37

2. Griffin III- 35

3. Dalton- 31

4. Bradford- 29

T-5. Newton- 28

T-6. Weeden- 28

NFL.com

1. E. Manning- 38.80

2. Bradford- 32.33

3. Dalton- 32.00

4. Griffin III- 31.07

5. Weeden- 28.33

ESPN.com

1. Griffin III- 30

2. E.Manning- 26

3. Newton- 25

4. Bradford- 23

5. Dalton- 22

As you can see, Robert Griffin III exceeded the experts projections from my last Fantasy post. The question is, have the experts learned their lesson from last week and adjusted their projections to show the world that Griffin III will remain a Fantasy stud for his home opener against the <del>Bungles </del>…Bengals? I believe they did. There is definitely a change in respect for Griffin III. However, they are still expecting the usual suspects to show up big for their teams also. NFL.com has Griffin III ranked #3 behind Romo and Big Ben, but in front of Brady and Matt Ryan. Fleaflicker.com must think that he will be splitting snaps with the other RGIII (Rex Grossman III) because they have him tied for #6 behind Brees, Newton, Romo, Dalton, Vick and Brady (tied). ESPN.com has Griffin III ranked #5 behind Brees, Stafford, Newton and Rodgers.

Even though Griffin III is not ranked #1 in any of the projections, there is an increase in the numbers he is expected to put up. Meaning that he is making an impact early and people are fully aware of it. I am proud to say that I benched Cam Newton this week for Griffin III, so I am anxious to see how well he plays, LIVE from FedEx field!

It’s no secret that Cam Newton can play. He’s exceeded most expectations set forth by analysts, but his team has not. The Carolina Panthers are probably one of the more dangerous 1-5 teams you’ll see, but their defense is what continues to let them down and I believe it will be their downfall today. The Redskins offense isn’t the greatest show on natural grass, but versus this Carolina defense- they could be.
