If you haven’t been paying attention to the best Redskins legal drama since Albert Haynesworth felt up an unsuspecting waitress, it’s okay, we’ll get you up to speed. What this case boils down to is whether or not Redskins unrestricted free-agent tight end Fred Davis actually threw a pitcher at a young woman inside of a club after he had poured liquid all over her. You read that correctly. Here’s how the inicdent occured according to NBC Sport’s Pro Football Talk:

The woman who is suing Fred Davis says that the incident between them began because Davis was jealous that she was hanging out with Ravens players, not Redskins players.

Plaintiff Makini R. Chaka testified that Davis, a free agent tight end who has played his entire career for the Redskins, approached her at a nightclub where she was with a group of Ravens players. Chaka says that Davis, whom she described as an acquaintance before the incident in question, didn’t like the fact that she was with players on the Ravens.

“The Redskins and the Ravens players don’t get along,” Chaka testified, via the Washingtonian. “A lot of the Redskins players are jealous of the Ravens players because they are a better team.”

According to Chaka, she was with a group of Ravens players when Davis approached her, grabbed her wrist and yelled profanities at her. Chaka responded by throwing a drink in Davis’s face, and Davis returned minutes later and dumped a pitcher of juice on her.

The lawsuit centers on whether Davis just threw liquid on Chaka or whether he also threw the pitcher itself and injured her lip, as she claims. A video of the incident is being circulated on Twitter by the Sulton Law Office, which according to The Big Lead is Chaka’s lawyer. The video, however, doesn’t add a whole lot of clarity beyond what was said in court.

Chaka is seeking more than $350,000 in punitive damages from Davis.

Now, Dan Steinberg at the DC Sports Bog has video!

Video of Fred Davis’s alleged bottle-throwing incident, via his accuser’s lawyer wapo.st/ZULRCg

Another week, another victory for your Ultimate Survivor. By halftime of the Forty Niners’ (4-1, Riggo’s Rag’s Power Ranking 2) reenactment of Little Big Horn on the Buffaloed Bills (2-3, RRPR 28) last week, I had switched the channel to watch as thousands… and thousands of Survivor League seasons ended on the foot of Al Czervik… I mean Mason Crosby. I have not seen a shank that bad since… Stephen “Snausages” Gostkowski in Week 2. (No, no, Mr. Snausages. I’m not done with you by darn sight.) If you take only one gold-plated pearl of wisdom from your Ultimate Survivor friend this season – please, NEVER pick a road team. This is not college. There are no Alabama at Southwest Louisiana Tech A&M Prep matchups. NFL road games are where Survivor League seasons go to die. And for all of you that picked the Green Bay Packers (2-3, RRPR 12) at Indianaplois(2-3, RRPR 20) last week, pull up a chair – there are plenty of friends waiting for you at the bar.

Oct 7, 2012; Landover, MD, USA; Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan (2) prepares to take the snap from Atlanta Falcons center Todd McClure (62) against the Washington Redskins during the second half at FedEX Field.
(For the purposes of this article we assume the most popular answer on our poll is the one that was used to survive last week. So far we have used Houston, Cincinnati, Dallas, Baltimore and San Francisco)

With each passing week, the “confidence” of your Ultimate Survivor friend reaches new heights. This week your stone-cold, triple-platinum, lock of the century, Survivor League pick has to be the Atlanta Falcons (5-0, RRPR 3) at home over the hapless marauders of Oakland (1-3, SI Ranking 29). The Raiders have to fly three time zones to play an early game against at team that is performing at a significantly higher level. Now that Brian Cushing of the Houston Texans (5-0, RRPR 1) is out for the season with an ACL tear, I have the Falcons poised to become the second best team in the NFL behind the retro Niners. Approximately once every year a West Coast team breaks the trend and wins an early game on the East Coast. Unfortunately for the Silver and Black, those honors have already been taken by the Arizona Cardinals (4-1, RRPR 13) in Week 2 courtesy of the New England Patriots (3-2, RRPR 5) and Mr. Snausages.

My alternate pick, in case you have used Atlanta already, this week is Arizona over the Buffaloed Bills. In two of their three road games this year, Buffaloed has been downright obliterated – losing by 20 to the New York Jets (2-3, RRPR 27) in Week 1, and by 42 to the Niners last week. The Bills did not even bother going home this week to prepare for the tail end of their back-to-back West Coast road trip. My guess is that the elongated stay was to avoid the 17 fans waiting for them back in Orchard Park. Regardless, look for another double digit loss by the soon-to-be Los Angeles Bills.

My sucker bet of the week is the Baltimore Ravens (4-1, RRPR 4) over the Dallas Cowboys (2-2, RRPR 15). The Ravens do not score a lot of points, and have not shown the same pass rush without Terrell Suggs anchoring the charge. I am not ready to say that the Cowboys take the win on this one, but I am also not ready to put my streak on the line on this game.

The 49ers (2-1, Riggo’s Rag Power Ranking 3, SI Power Ranking 4) and Steelers (1-2, RRPR 10, SIPR 16) proved once again that you simply cannot trust a road favorite for your Survivor pick. The Saints (0-3, RRPR 25, SIPR 29) further reinforced the unqualified Survivor rule to never, EVER, pick a team that has yet to win a game… even if it is against the Chiefs (1-2, RRPR 22, SIPR 23). For the 6% of you have been guided by the hands of the football gods to stay alive by correctly choosing the likes of Bengals (2-1, RRPR 16, SIPR 13) and Bears (2-1, RRPR 8, SIPR 12) in the past two weeks, that Rams (1-2, RRPR 24, SIPR 24) over Seahawks (2-1, RRPR 9, SIPR 11) Survivor pick is probably looking real enticing right about now. For the rest of us who have used analysis, logic, and rock-paper-scissors to our unfortunate detriment, it’s time for us to take our Mulligan. You never like burning that bad boy on the front nine, but sometimes a round has to be more about individual holes than the final score.

September 10, 2012; Baltimore, MD, USA; Baltimore Ravens captains cornerback Corey Graham (24), guard Bobbie Williams (63) and linebacker Ray Lewis (52) walk towards the coin flip prior to their game against the Cincinnati Bengals at M

That being said, the two obvious picks this week are the Texans (3-0, RRPR 1, SIPR 1) at home over the Titans (1-2, RRPR 29, SIPR 25), and the Ravens (2-1, RRPR 4, SIPR 3) on Thursday night over the Browns (0-3, RRPR 32, SIPR 32). The Texans are far and away the best team in the NFL right now. Even the replacement refs cannot slow these guys down. When you consider that they are playing a Titans team who will do anything and everything to try to lose a football game – including giving up 14 points in the last 18 seconds of a game to Shaun “Who” Hill, this one is easy money in the bank. Odds are, however, that you probably have already used the Texans this Survivor season. (For the purposes of this article we assume the most popular answer on our poll is the one that was used to survive last week. So far we have used Houston, Cincinnati, and Cowboys in the first three weeks.) Plan B is the Ravens. While there is always the possibility that the Black Birds will suffer a letdown after their emotional roller coaster win against the Patriots (1-2, RRPR 7, SIPR 8), the fact that it is a short week at home against a winless, talentless, our-first-owner’s-name-was-Paul Brown’s team, Plan B is a solid Survivor choice week.

As for our beloved Redskins (1-2, RRPR 20, SIPR 22), all is not well in the Beltway. The promise of Week 1 has been swept away by the last minute bunglings of Weeks 2 and 3. Despite the close scores, the Burgundy and Gold look to be about 21 players short of a championship contender. His Majesty III can only do so much. However, this week, I like the Hogs chances on the road against the punch-less Buccaneers (1-2, RRPR 15, SIPR 21). The Buccaneers do not score a lot of points. They average only 20.0 points per game – tying them with the Rams for 24th in the NFL. The Redskins, on the other hand, rank 1st, racking up 33.0 points per contest. In this game, the Buccaneers defense will simply not be fast enough to stop his Majesty III from topping 20 points. After the last two weeks, faith in our hometown heroes may be exactly what we need to right our Survivor ship.Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post's poll.
