“As a team and an organization, we know that the Washington Redskins isn’t a better team than us…We know that hands down. If we played them one hundred times, they might win five. They won that day. It never leaves a good taste in your mouth when you lose to an opponent that you know you are better than.” – Giants Safety Antrel Rolle on WFAN.

Not only did the Redskins take care of the Giants on that opening week, they took care of them again during week 15 with a 23-10 victory in New Jersey. (more…)

David Carr played on the Giants? Fred “Baskin” Robbins headed out to join “Spags” in St. Louis? Thats the word coming from New Jersey. With the signing of Antrel Rolle from the Cardinals yesterday, these two losses pretty much highlight those who are leaving. The BigBlueView.com writes:

Backup quarterback David Carr could be heading to the San Francisco 49ers, where, after trashing Carr the other day, linebacker Patrick Willis will have some ‘splaining to do. Carr is a guy whose loss may not seem significant, as long as Eli Manning is healthy. The Giants don’t really want to have to replace him, though.

Defensive tackle Fred Robbins is apparently heading to St. Louis to join ex-Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo. You could call it a big loss, but only because the 325-pound Robbins is a very large man. There isn’t much gas left in Robbins’ tank, and there really wasn’t a place for him in New York anymore. So, that move is no big deal.
