I really thought this was the week, the week where the Skins proved pundits wrong and actually did something that they were supposed to do. Won an important game that they were supposed to win and planted themselves firmly within the playoff hunt heading down the stretch. So many good things happened leading up to the conclusion of Sunday’s game. There was the big win against the Titans, the emergence of Keiland Williams as a consistent running threat for the offense, the whole drama within the Vikings organization, Adrian Peterson’s first half injury, and most importantly the fact that Joey Galloway was waived! I should have been excited about this week right?

Wrong… (more…)

…and convince him that it is time to go home, why won’t you just go home Brett? This has to be Brett Favre’s worst season ever, period. It’s not just the on the field struggles, the broken ankle, the 3-7 record, and the stimulation of the coaching change. It’s not just coming back for one final run to the super bowl and having those hopes shattered. It’s the charade that was put on prior to the season, the 1 million dollars earned every game, the off the field picture scandal, and the whole saga that we have endured all over the sports media landscape all season long. It just seems like it might be time to go home, spend some time with the family and wife, fixing things, and maybe make an occasional appearance in a wrangler jeans commercial. It makes me kind of sad, even as a Redskin’s fan, to have to watch the struggles this year. Sure there are occasional moments, but so many struggles, so many missteps, so many things to fix off the football field. It’s time for the infamous streak to end Brett and the Redskins might be the perfect team to do it.

The Vikings are reeling. After the beat down they took against Green Bay, who wouldn’t be? Minnesota is 3-7 and in 3rd place in the NFC North with only the Detroit Lions behind them. This week I had a conversation with Dan Zinski, the lead writer for The Viking Age - a blog covering the Minnesota Vikings. We discussed issues ranging from coaching changes to quarterback play and more. Here’s what we covered on Tuesday.
