After a year that saw Terrelle Pryor play with five different quarterbacks, the receiver wants a chance to play with the best in Washington. He is hoping that Kirk Cousins stays with the team.

The Cleveland Browns are one of the worst organizations in the NFL when it comes to evaluating quarterback talent. The team has not had a quality quarterback in decades. Every guy they draft or sign ends up busting out, and never living up to his potential. That is part of why it was surprising to see Terrelle Pryor play so well last year with the team. The quarterback turned receiver put up the first 1,000 yard season of his career and looked like a real threat at the receiver position. He was expected to get a lot of interest on the free agent market, but wound up signing a one-year deal with the Washington Redskins.

With Washington, Pryor is hoping to get one thing in the 2017 season: stability at quarterback. After seeing action with five different passers, and six if you include the snaps he took at the position, Pryor is excited about the potential of teaming up with Kirk Cousins.

According to ESPN’s John Keim, Pryor was optimistic about the possibility of working with Cousins on a recent conference call with the media. Pryor said the following of Cousins:

More from Riggo's Rag

"I signed to be a Washington Redskin no matter who the quarterback is. But I’d love the opportunity to play with Kirk, without a doubt. He’s a great quarterback."

Pryor would later go on to say that he had reached out to Cousins, and that he was planning on working out with the signal caller and some other receivers in the near future.

Cousins has been the subject of a lot of reports this offseason. He appears to be angry at the Redskins front office for the way that they treated him during contract negotiations in each of the past two seasons. It is hard to blame him, given that he has been slapped with the franchise tag twice and the team has refused to commit to him long term. Cousins reportedly will not sign a long term deal with the Skins so long as Bruce Allen is in power, so Pryor will have to keep an eye on that story line if he wants to play with Cousins.

Overall, the prospect of Pryor and Cousins playing together is an intriguing one. It just remains to be seen if Cousins will be with the team at the start of 2017. The Redskins may be forced to trade the franchise quarterback, and that could put a slight damper on Pryor’s production if they do.
