The Washington Redskins appear to still be active in the free agent market. They have reportedly been in contact with a couple of free agents in the past few days, including Bennie Logan.

The early days of the NFL free agent period have been frustrating for the fans of the Washington Redskins. On the first day, the general manager of the team, Scot McCloughan, was officially fired by the team. That day, three star players left the team including two receivers who had each posted 1,000 yards seasons. The Redskins made up for these departures by overpaying for a couple of defensive linemen, but then made amends by signing a solid safety, D.J. Swearinger, and a high upside wide receiver in Terrelle Pryor.

However, as time goes on, it appears that the team is still trying to sign some other players. They have cap space remaining, and could open up even more if they end up trading Kirk Cousins, as he has requested. As long as Bruce Allen is with the Redskins, Cousins will not negotiate a long term deal. That may force Daniel Snyder’s hand and allow for a trade to be made.

Even without copious cap space, the Redskins are still attempting to make a couple of smaller moves. Here are some rumors about who they are currently targeting.
