Redskins Vs Giants: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

The Good – Part 1

1.  Jordan Reed shines again

There wasn’t a whole lot of good for the Washington Redskins in this one but tight end Jordan Reed had another big game in week three against the New York Giants.  Reed had 6 catches for 96 yards and was once again Kirk Cousins most reliable receiver.

The Giants had a hard time covering Reed as his size, speed and hands at the tight end position presented a matchup problem.  Reeds’ problem with penalties continued though, as he had a huge penalty on a pick play that negated a long gain to Chris Thompson.

The pick play was much too obvious and Reed could have at least tried harder to pretend that he was running a route.  However, for the most part, Reed’s skills as a receiver made up for what he lacked as a blocker and the penalties.

2.  Keenan Robinson’s ascension continues

When watching the Redskins defense it’s hard to ignore how good inside linebacker Keenan Robinson is playing.  At times he’s making plays all over the field.  He’s much improved not only against the run but it better this year in coverage too.

Robinson led the Redskins in tackles against the Giants with 13 and many of those tackles showed off his speed and ability to play sideline to sideline.  The presence of Terrance Knighton at nose tackle gives Robinson more freedom to make plays and he’s taking full advantage of it.
