The Final 53:

Redskins roster Projection – Defense 3.0

Defensive Line:

Projected Number - 6

1.  Jason Hatcher –

2.  Barry Cofield –

3.  Chris Baker  –

4.  Jarvis Jenkins –

5.  Kedric Golston –

6.  Clifton Geathers  –

Cuts:  Frank Kearse, Robert Thomas

PUP: Stephen Bowen

IR – Chris Neild

Chris Neild suffered a serious knee injury against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  I had predicted that Neild would make the team but with the injury it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen.  So defensive end Clifton Geathers looks primed to make the Falcons roster after a good performance against the Buccaneers.

It’s unknown at this time if Stephen Bowen will be ready to go by the time the season starts, so he may end up on the PUP list.   Jason Hatcher will start at defensive end and try to provide the pass rush the Redskins were missing last season.  Chris Baker will start at the other defensive end as he has shown tremendous improvement from the second half of last season to now.

And Barry Cofield is back as the starting nose tackle.  He gives the Redskin a steady presence who is good against the run and can pass rush.
