Projected Number - 6

1.  Jason Hatcher –

2.  Barry Cofield –

3.  Chris Baker  –

4.  Jarvis Jenkins –

5.  Kedric Golston –

6.  Chris Neild  –

Cuts:  Chris Neild, Clifton Geathers, Frank Kearse,

PUP: Stephen Bowen

It’s unknown at this time if Stephen Bowen will be ready to go by the time the season starts, so he may end up on the PUP list.  If that happens the Redskins will need to keep another linemen in his place and right now it seems that Chris Neild is the most logical choice.  Neild has performed well the past few preseason games and seems to be coming into his own.

Jason Hatcher will start at defensive end and try to provide the pass rush the Redskins were missing last season.  Chris Baker will start at the other defensive end as he has shown tremendous improvement from the second half of last season to now.  And Barry Cofield is back as the starting nose tackle.  He gives the Redskin a steady presence who is good against the run and can pass rush.

Jarvis Jenkins is primed for a big season at defensive end and has had a good training camp.  Kedric Golston can play both defensive end and nose tackle.  His versatility is a key reason he should make the team.
