Redskins vs. Ravens.  Washington Redskins defensive end Jason Hatcher will make his long-awaited debut on Saturday night against the Baltimore Ravens.  Hatcher missed the first two preseason games and part of training camp while still recovering from arthroscopic surgery he had on his right knee in the offseason.

The Redskins defense has looked good so far in the preseason so it will interesting see if Hatcher’s presence can help elevate it to even a higher level of performance.  The pass rush has been great and the run defense has been as well.  And in Hatcher’s absence Jarvis Jenkins and Chris Baker are showing they are hungry to make their mark this season.

So Jason Hatcher has something to prove.  As the Redskins brought him in to help improve their pass rush and to give them a force on the defensive line to take away some of the attention off of outside linebackers Ryan Kerrigan and Brian Orakpo.  The Redskins know what Hatcher can do because he did it them last season as a Dallas Cowboy.

But the Ravens game will be Hatcher’s first action, so he will just be trying to shake off the rust and ensure that his knee is well enough to take the pounding of an actual game and not just in practice.  But it will still exciting to see the how the new free agent signee performs in the Redskins 3-4 defense.     Redskins vs. Ravens
