Johnny Manziel shows his buttons are easily pushed

Johnny Manziel not only was inconsistent passing the football for the Cleveland Browns but he also showed he may have a problem dealing with players from other teams trying to get under his skin.  As in the second half of the Browns 24-23 preseason loss to the Washington Redskins Manziel is shown flipping off the Redskins sideline.

Apparently a Redskins player said something that Manziel didn’t like and then he made the obscene hand gesture as he ran back to the Browns huddle.  Manziel is in a competition with veteran Brian Hoyer for the Browns starting quarterback job and by losing his cool in that fashion demonstrates that he still may not be ready for the role of team leader.

With Johnny Manziel’s cocky reputation coming out of college, he should expect NFL players on other teams to try to push his buttons and get him off his game.  Instead of giving them the reaction they want, Manziel should be doing everything in his power to show the league that no matter what they say it won’t get to him.

And once players see he won’t be rattled, it might cause them to stop taunting him as much.  But now that Manziel’s shown his buttons can be easily pushed it will only encourage even more trash talk to come his way.  Johnny Manziel has talent but again he shows that he still has a lot of maturing to do before he’s ready to become the face of the Browns franchise.
