The Final 53:

Redskins roster Projection – Special Teams 1.0

Projected Number – 1

1.  Zach Hocker –

Cuts:  Kai Forbath,

Zach Hocker has the advantage after the first preseason game but it’s still a long way to go.  Kai Forbath had a mediocre performance against the New England Patriots as he missed a short field goal and had a kickoff go out-of-bounds which is something that can’t happen.  The Redskins must have better special teams play this season and kicker is a good place to start.

The Redskins drafted Hocker in the seventh round for a reason and that’s to come in and compete with Forbath for the kicking job and so far he’s got a leg up on the competition so to speak.

Projected Number – 1

1.  Robert Malone –

Cuts:  Blake Clingan,

The Redskins only had one punt last week against the Patriots and that was by Robert Malone for 43 yards.  Malone seems to have the lead for the job coming out of training camp and unless Blake Clingan comes on strong or Malone just has a collapse he’ll probably win the job.  But the Redskins were ranked 30th in punting last season and that has to change whoever wins the job.

Long Snapper:

Projected Number – 1

1.  Nick Sundberg –

Sundberg has no competition in camp and will have the job as long as he doesn’t get injured.

The Final 53: Redskins roster Projection – Offense 1.0

The Final 53: Redskins roster Projection – Defense 1.0
