 Projected Number – 4

1.   Brian Orakpo –

2.  Ryan Kerrigan –

3.  Trent Murphy  –

4.  Rob Jackson –

Cuts:  Everette Brown, Adrian Robinson, Gabe Miller,

Brian Orakpo and Ryan Kerrigan are the starters.  Both players could be in for big seasons as Redskins defensive coordinator Jim Haslett has stated that he will turn the outside linebackers loose to get after the quarterback.  Orakpo has the franchise tag so a big season could bring him a long-term contract and Kerrigan is seeking the same thing.  Whichever has the better season will more than likely get the offer.

The Redskins drafted Trent Murphy to help provide more pass rush as he was one of the top pass rushers in college football last year.  The Redskins will use all three of Orakpo, Kerrigan, and Murphy on the field at the same time in some sets.  Rob Jackson can be counted on as a solid backup if needed.

Everette Brown, Adrian Robinson, and Gabe Miller are all good young options, but they will need to beat out Jackson in order to make the team.
