The Final 53:

Redskins roster Projection – Offense 1.0

Projected Number – 3

1.  Robert Griffin III –

2.  Kirk Cousins –

3.  Colt McCoy  –

Cuts:  None

The starting quarterback Griffin is still learning Jay Gruden’s new offense and is trying to become a better pocket passer.  RGIII has regained much of his explosiveness from his rookie year but he won’t be running the read-option as much.  Cousins is coming off of a rough end to the season last year and is trying to get back on track.

If Cousins continues to play well in the preseason his name may become hot on the trade market again if a starting quarterback gets injured.  McCoy has starting experience and took Rex Grossman’s place on the roster.  At 27 McCoy is the oldest Redskins quarterback but is still young enough to have a bit of an upside.

If Cousins is traded then McCoy has enough experience to be the backup.
