Here are three of the top headlines in the NFC East for week 2 of the preseason.

1.  Cowboys cornerback Orlando Scandrick suspended

Dallas Cowboys starting cornerback Orlando Scandrick has been suspended by the NFL for violation of the leagues policy on performance enhancing drugs.  Scandrick will miss the first four games of the season for the Cowboys and this will most certainly hurt the Cowboys defense.

Scandrick had 64 tackles, 2 sacks, and 2 interceptions last season for the Cowboys.  He also contributed 12 passes defensed on the season.  The Cowboys have a tough schedule in those first four games playing two playoff teams in the San Francisco 49ers and the New Orleans Saints, but also the up and coming St. Louis Rams  on the road.

The Washington Redskins won’t be effected by this as they don’t play the Cowboys until week 8 of the season and Scandrick will be back in the lineup by then.  Former first round pick Morris Claiborne will start in the Scandrick’s place.            NFC East
