Chris Baker

defensive end,

Chris Baker filled in for the injured Stephen Bowen at defensive end late last season and he played very well down the stretch.  So well that the Redskins chose to re-sign him to a 3-year, $9 million contract.  And now Baker is slated to be the starter at defensive end in the Redskins 3-4 defense opposite free agent signee Jason Hatcher.

Baker had previously been a nose tackle and he doesn’t have a lot of experience at defensive end.  However, he displayed last season that he can be explosive in penetrating into the backfield.  But now he has to show that he can be patient and hold his ground at the point of attack, and then make the play.  Watch for him to do this against the Patriots.    Redskins vs. Patriots.
