Here is a list counting down the Top 32 Washington Redskins of 2014 – No. 5

5.  Alfred Morris - running back

Age 25, 5-10, 218 pounds

Analysis: Alfred Morris has become one of the best pure runners in NFL.  He has rushed for over 1,200 yards the past few seasons.  Morris has a style of running that shows patience but also violent power, as he knows how to find the right hole to run through, and when he does it’s rare that you see him get brought down on the initial contact.

Morris is one of the key reasons the Redskins have been among the league leaders in rushing, and he’s such a great fit in the Redskins zone blocking scheme that new head coach Jay Gruden has chosen to keep the scheme in his offense.  The question is much more or less will Morris be utilized, as so far in his career he comes off the field on passing downs.

Alfred Morris has stated he would like to stay on the field in passing situations, and he’s working to improve as a receiver and become more of a complete running back in order to do that.   Quarterback Robert Griffin III has stated that Morris is the Redskins best offensive weapon, so as long as Morris remains durable the Redskins should once again have a very good running game in 2014.
