Here is a list counting down the Top 32 Washington Redskins of 2014 – No. 8
8. Jordan Reed – tight end
Age 24, 6-2, 237 pounds
Analysis: Jordan Reed was a third round draft pick by the Redskins last season and he burst onto the scene in his rookie year, and he quickly emerged as a top target for Robert Griffin III. Reed finished second on the team in receptions with 45 for 499 yards and 3 TD’s, and remarkably he did all of that while missing seven games due to complications with a concussion. If he hadn’t missed the time he would have certainly been one of the leading candidates for Rookie of the Year. Reed’s talent jumps out at you, as he has a knack for finding the open areas, and although he’s not the biggest tight end you’ll see, his strength and athleticism make him tough for linebackers and safeties to cover. He’s also a willing blocker.
Reed’s presence gives the Redskins passing game a tremendous boost. And with DeSean Jackson stretching the field, and Pierre Garcon drawing attention from the rest of the secondary, then Reed should have a lot of open space in the middle of the defense. And Jordan Reed has been noticeably working very hard this offseason, so 2014 could be a big year for him.
