Here is a list counting down the Top 32 Washington Redskins of 2014 – No. 15
15. Chris Baker – inside linebacker
Age 26, 6-2, 333 pounds
Analysis: Washington Redskins defensive end Chris Baker has a very good chance to start this season, and the main reason for that is the tremendous development he showed down the stretch of last season. Baker entered the starting lineup in place of the injured Stephen Bowen, and his performance gives him the upper hand entering 2014.Baker not only played well against the run, but also displayed the ability to get good penetration into the offensive backfield. And while Baker had only one sack on the season, he could be repeatedly seen getting pressure on opposing quarterbacks, and getting all too important quarterback hits as well.
Chris Baker started his career with the Redskins as a nose tackle, and if Barry Cofield is injured at some point during the season, we may see Baker at nose tackle again. But for now he seems to have found a home at defensive end where his agility and strength give the Redskins some skills they can put to good use. Skills they haven’t had much of in recent seasons.
